Course Description

University of Calgary and Huatuo Clinic cordially invite everyone to join us on a meeting on Monday Mar 18 to introduce AIDP program for people with PDD in Alberta, and have a Live Demo for anyone who would like to experience acupuncture or its non-invasive alternatives! Time: Monday Mar 18, 2024, 10:00 AM Location: Both at Vantage (Suite 223, 1011 - 9 Avenue SE, Calgary, AB T2G 0H7), and Online via Zoom Invited attendees: All individuals supported by Vantage if you are a potential candidate of AIDP (Alberta Innovative Disabilities Program) if you are interested in seeing how acupuncture works if you would like to be treated in the live demo for free (need to come in person) All guardians of Potential AIDP candidates if you need to decide whether to allow the individual to participate in AIDP if you are interested in seeing how acupuncture works if you would like to be treated in the live demo for free (need to come in person) if you need to have the consent forms explained to you All Vantage staff members if you are interested in participating in the onsite treatment program for Vantage staff members if you are interested in seeing how acupuncture works if you would like to be treated in the live demo for free (ne Individuals with disabilities (and supports) face many common health concerns. We will review common barriers in addressing health concerns within the disabled community and and the role of acupuncture in managing health. We will learn about the safety and effectiveness of acupuncture as the AIDP team provides an overview of their program and share the evidence based success of the AIDP team. Never Tried Acupuncture Before? Does it hurt? Who is suitable to receive Acupuncture treatment? Who shouldn’t? The AIDP Team will conduct a live demonstration of acupuncture techniques from volunteers from the audience to address neck or shoulder pain, lower back pain or headaches. Consultations will be offered to attendees. This will be followed by discussion of potential collaborations between Vantage and the AIDP Team. This presentation is offered by the AIDP Team (University of Calgary and Hualto Clinic).

Cancellation Policy

Requests for cancellations or rescheduling of course registrations must be received via email to training@vantage.academy at least 7 days prior to date of the course. Requests for cancellations or rescheduling that are received after that time are subject to a cancellation/rescheduling fee equal to the cost of the course.
