Abuse Prevention and Response Protocol
Abuse Prevention and Response Protocol Training is a two-hour workshop that teaches participants awareness of the prevalence of abuse of individuals with developmental disabilities, how to use proactive strategies for preventing abuse, and procedures to follow to ensure the immediate safety needs of the individual and respond and report incidents of suspected abuse.
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two-day, in-person interactive
workshop in suicide first aid. ASIST teaches participants to recognize when someone
may have thoughts of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support
their immediate safety. Although ASIST is widely used by healthcare providers,
participants don’t need any formal training to attend the workshop—anyone 18 or older
can learn and use the ASIST model. This workshop is not recommended for people
who have had a recent suicide loss.
Mandt for Families
Sharing three of the core principles and concepts, this specialized course is less intensive than Mandt for Professionals, making it accessible for family members and friends to build stable relationships with loved ones. Modules include: Building Healthy Relationships, Healthy Communication, and Healthy Conflict Management
Mandt for Professionals
Professional level strategies to manage interactions and crisis situations at home and in the community. This comprehensive program provides a range of modules that equip the learner to manage their own behaviour and assist individuals to promote everyone’s safety. For professionals requiring re- certification some online module options may be available. Mandt is an internationally accredited and approved PBIS program that meets the accreditation standards for the Alberta Council of Disability Services (Creating Excellence Together) and Alberta Disability Services.

Mental Health First Aid Basic
MHFA Basic is intended for adults interacting with adults (18 years and older). In this two-day, in-person workshop, participants will focus on the four most common mental health disorders, including substance related, mood related, anxiety and trauma related, and psychotic disorders. Participants who take this course are well prepared to interact confidently and provide help to a person developing a mental health problem, experiencing a mental health crisis or a worsening of their mental health.

Mental Health First Aid Standard
In this course blending self-directed online study and virtual instructor led training,
participants will learn how to recognize signs that a person may be experiencing a
decline in their mental well-being or a mental health crisis and learn how to
respond to keep individuals safe. Participants will practice applying MHFA actions
to situations of declining mental well-being, learn how to engage in supportive
conversations with people from diverse cultures and members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, and practice using MHFA actions in a crisis situation. Caregivers, supports and families will also develop strategies to practice self-care.
