Course Description

What is Dementia: Gain a comprehensive understanding of dementia, including its causes, common types, and how it affects individuals cognitively, emotionally, and socially. We will delve into the fundamental aspects of dementia to establish a solid foundation of knowledge. Identifying Early Warning Signs: Learn to recognize the early warning signs of dementia in the individuals you work with. We will focus on specific indicators and behavioral changes that may be early signs of cognitive decline, enabling you to respond proactively and seek appropriate interventions. Reducing Stigma: Explore the importance of reducing stigma surrounding dementia and promoting a supportive environment for affected individuals. We will address common misconceptions, challenge stereotypes, and discuss practical strategies for fostering empathy and understanding within our work. Baseline Measurement for Adult Clients: Understand the significance of establishing a baseline measurement for our adult clients with dementia. Learn how to conduct and document assessments effectively, which can help in tracking changes over time, setting goals, and tailoring individualized care plans.

Cancellation Policy

Requests for cancellations or rescheduling of course registrations must be received via email to at least 7 days prior to date of the course. Requests for cancellations or rescheduling that are received after that time are subject to a cancellation/rescheduling fee equal to the cost of the course.
