Course Description

In this 2-hour hands-on workshop facilitated by our Inclusion Services Specialist, supports explore the important role of touch in supporting people with disabilities—when it’s helpful, when it’s not, and how to ensure it’s always respectful and ethical. Reflecting on everyday situations, we’ll look at boundaries, consent, communication styles, and cultural differences. Participants will learn the importance building trust through appropriate touch that is professional, maintains safety, and reduces risks of retraumatization when providing direct support to Individuals Accessing Services.
